No Name festival Parade
RESOLUTION #16-001
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BRAZORIA, TEXAS,
REQUESTING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO CLOSE A PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 36 WITHIN SAID CITY;
AND OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING THERETO
WHEREAS, Brazoria Chamber of Commerce, has requested that it be allowed to hold a No Name Festival Parade as a part of the annual No Name Festival on June 11, 2016;
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the necessity of closing a portion of State Highway 36 in order to have this parade;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the requested parade will serve a public purpose and desires to assist Brazoria Chamber of Commerce by requesting a temporary closure of a portion of the state highway.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRAZORIA, TEXAS:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts stated herein are true and correct, and hereby makes a formal request that a portion of State Highway 36, between Linder Lane and E. San Bernard Street, within the corporate limits of the City of Brazoria, be closed for the public purpose of a No Name Festival Parade.
The City Council further authorizes the appropriate city officials of the City of Brazoria, Texas, to enter into an agreement, which is attached to this Resolution to accomplish this temporary closure of the state highway right-of-way.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this the 9th day of February 2016.
